Its worst year on record is 2011, far enough back that most of that damage has either been paid or forgotten -- 2011 alone carried 38 of the 220 reports. By county, the damage concentrates in Baltimore County (77), Anne Arundel County (38), Harford County (28), Howard County (26), Carroll County (20), Baltimore City County (19), Montgomery County (6) and York County (4).

That constraint is also why this site has ten of these pages and not fifty. The list comes out of a client-ZIP export, not a keyword tool: 631 active client-ZIP records covering 480 distinct ZIP codes, held by 27 distinct paying clients. Ten metros carry at least 10 client ZIPs each and together account for 403 of those 480 ZIPs, or 84.0%. The three largest footprints are Denver (112 ZIPs, 5 clients), Dallas (91 ZIPs, 3 clients) and Fort Worth (54 ZIPs, 4 clients). Markets where the footprint was too thin to evidence did not get a page, and neither did Spokane, where we hold 27 ZIPs but the storm archive shows 20 severe-hail reports on 4 days in the entire window. A service area we cannot measure is a service area we will not claim.
What we actually do when the Baltimore phones go

Calls ending "not interested" run a mean of 34 seconds and a median of 30 (n=60 random sample). Calls ending in a hang-up run a mean of 27 seconds and a median of 20 (n=40 random sample). Those are outbound calls on our own floor over a fixed window, not an industry average, and they are the same numbers whether you are calling Baltimore County or anywhere else -- the weather is local, the conversation is not.
